1 hospitalized following big rig-pedestrian collision in South OKC

SOUTH OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – One person was hospitalized following a big rig-pedestrian collision that happened in South Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
The pedestrian was struck by the big rig after 10 a.m. while walking on northbound I-44 along Southwest 149th Street, KOCO reports. It’s unclear if the pedestrian was walking on the shoulder or directly on the traffic lanes.
The pedestrian was sent to the emergency room for treatment of unspecified injuries.
No lane closures were reported, but officials were seen directing traffic on the shoulder.
Oklahoma Fire crews were among the first responders.
