OWASSO, OK – One person was killed, and another was taken to a hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on the 9700th block of southbound U.S. 169 on Monday.
The impact of the collision caused a vehicle to slide partially into an empty drainage ravine and catch on fire, and left significant front-end damage to a semi-truck, KTUL reports. Officials believe a crash from earlier, on the 8600th block of the highway, was a continuing factor that led to this collision.
The person whose vehicle caught on fire died. Officials said the hospitalized person’s physical condition was not disclosed, and also confirmed that three other people received treatment at the scene for injuries that seemed minor.
Officials shut down the southbound U.S. 169 for the scene clean-up process and overall crash investigation.
