1 killed, 1 injured in solo crash near Portland and SW 36th

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A fatality has been confirmed in connection to a collision that happened late Friday morning in southwest Oklahoma City, reports KOCO News 5.
Sometime before 11:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash on Portland Avenue near Southwest 36th Street, which is west of Woodson Park and northeast of Will Rogers International Airport.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle carrying two people crashed into a pole while fleeing an attempted traffic stop.
One person from the vehicle succumbed to their injuries. Authorities have not yet released that person’s name to the public.
Medics transported one other person from the vehicle to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
Video footage taken at the scene depicts a black sedan with extensive damage.
Police haven’t yet commented on the reason for the pursuit.
