1 killed in wrong-way crash at SW 84th St and Western Ave

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A wrong-way collision in south-central Oklahoma City killed one person and injured another on Thursday, reports KOCO News 5.
The fatal accident occurred in the morning at Southwest 84th Street and Western Avenue, which is just south of I-240 and Lightning Creek Park.
Police say that the driver of a black sedan was likely intoxicated when his vehicle veered onto the wrong side Western Avenue and crashed head-on into a silver vehicle.
The driver of the latter vehicle succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the collision. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name.
The wrong-way driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and faces charges in connection to the collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
