18-wheeler strikes, kills Tulsa man on I-44 near Stroud

CREEK CO., OK – A 49-year-old man died Thursday after a semi-truck struck him along Turner Turnpike in Southwest Creek County, reports KOCO News 5.

The accident happened around 2:15 a.m. on I-44 near mile marker 192 between between Stroud and Bristow. This is about 45 miles southwest of Tulsa.

Police say the victim was hit while attempting to cross the interstate.  Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name, but they say he was from Tulsa.

Neither the truck driver nor the passenger in the 18-wheeler sustained injuries in the accident.

Motorists likely experienced delays along Turner Turnpike overnight while crews worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
