NEAR MARIETTA, OK – A man and a woman died, and two children were sent to a hospital following a single-car crash near Marietta on Sunday, KTEN reports.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the incident unfolded around 4:15 p.m., when a 45-year-old man was driving south on Interstate 35 and lost control of his 2002 blue Buick sedan. His car overturned at least once and crashed into a tree.
The male driver, identified as Dalton Dede, and his female adult passenger, identified as 37-year-old Ashley Trotter, died from their injuries.
Trotter’s children, also in the car, survived. Medics transported them to Mercy Hospital in Ardmore and then to OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Officials did not specify the severity of the children’s injuries, but OHP captain Jim Terry said the children appear to be in stable condition.
