LOGAN COUNTY, OK — Two people were sent to hospitals Tuesday morning after a two-vehicle collision on Oklahoma Highway 33 near east Guthrie, reports Guthrie News Page.
First responders arrived at the scene near Interstate 35 shortly before 9:00 a.m.
Several witnesses told authorities a driver in a black SUV sped past a red light and collided with a semi-truck that was heading toward the I-35 northbound entrance ramp on a flashing yellow turn signal.
The impact of the crash left the SUV with significant front-end damage and caused all its airbags to deploy.
Two occupants were able to exit the wrecked vehicle, but one passenger was left unconscious.
Guthrie EMS crews rushed that patient to OU Medical Center, and a second victim in the same vehicle was also transported by LifeNet crews.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.
No further details have been disclosed at this time, but an investigation is being handled by the Guthrie Police Department.
