TUSHKA, OK – Two people died, and two people went to the hospital Thursday following a multi-vehicle collision in southwestern Atoka County, reports KOCO News 5.
Around 6:15 a.m., emergency crews received word of a crash involving five vehicles along US-69 just south of Boggy Depot Road in the town of Tushka. This is about 136 miles southeast of Oklahoma City.
Police say that wet roadways caused the driver of a northbound Jeep Compass to lose control of their vehicle, enter the southbound side of the highway, and collide with a Subaru Outback. Three additional southbound vehicles also crashed into the Subaru and Jeep.
The driver and passenger from the Jeep, both 18-years-old, were thrown from the vehicle and succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Authorities identified them as Brinlee Farris and Hannah Zebraski.
Medics transported a third teen from the Jeep and a woman from the Subaru to the hospital with serious injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
