Two people were killed in an Oklahoma car accident near Grove, Saturday.

According to officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, troopers respoinded to a call of a three-vehicle crash about five miles south of Grove on Highway 59. Police say a small sedan driven by 16 year-old Douglas Hudelston was traveling south when the vehicle careened off the right side of the roadway. Hudelston over-corrected causing the car to slide on the wet pavement, authorities say.

The vehicle crossed the centerline into the northbound lanes of traffic and struck a sedan driven by 69 year-old Gloria Ferguson head-on. Two passengers in Ferguson’s vehicle, 78 year-old Betty Jeffries and 58 year-old Randy Jeffries, died from their injuries.

Ferguson was transported to a hospital in Oklahoma City in fair condition. Hudelston was treated at a hospital in Joplin and then released.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ friends and families.
