2 killed in pickup vs. bus collision near Franklin and Dare

NORMAN, OK – An afternoon collision involving a school bus and a pickup truck killed two people in Norman on Thursday, reports OKC Fox 25.
Police responded to the urgent crash around 12:30 p.m. on Franklin Road near Dare Lane on the northeast side of the city. This is just west of the American Dog Obedience Center and north of Lake Thunderbird.
Officials say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a westbound pickup truck entered the eastbound side of Franklin Road and collided head on with a Norman Public School bus carrying at least five people.
Medics transported two adults from the bus to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A man and a woman from the pickup truck succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the collision. Authorities have not yet disclosed their names to the public.
None of the children on the bus were hurt.
