2-vehicle collision on I-44 in Tulsa injures police officer

TULSA, OK – Medics transported an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper to the hospital Friday after a driver struck his cruiser along the interstate, reports KOCO 5.
The incident happened just before 11 p.m. on Friday on the westbound side of I-44 near South Yale Avenue in Midtown.
The investigation indicates that a driver veered off of the interstate and collided with the trooper’s parked vehicle on the shoulder.
The victim, identified as Trooper Russell Callicoat, went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway to determine the cause of the collision.
