2-vehicle crash on OK-7 near Hennepin kills 1, injures 1

HENNEPIN, OK – A 21-year-old man died Saturday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision along the highway in south-central Garvin County, reports KOCO News 5.
The incident occurred around 3:10 p.m. on the eastbound side of OK-7 just east of Hennepin. This is about 80 miles south of Oklahoma CIty.
Police say the victim’s eastbound vehicle rear-ended the trailer on the back of a pickup truck. The latter vehicle was stopped in a construction zone.
The unrestrained driver of the first vehicle died at the scene. Authorities identified him as James Martinez.
Medics transported a passenger from the first vehicle to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
No other injuries have been reported in connection to the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
