2-vehicle wrong-way crash kills 1, hurts 1 near Atoka

ATOKA CO., OK – A 40-year-old man died on Tuesday after a wrong-way crash involving two vehicles on a highway near Atoka.
According to KFOR News 4, the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. on Highway 7 just west of Atoka and east of Wapanucka.
The investigation thus far indicates that an eastbound 2004 Chevy pickup truck entered the westbound lane of Highway 7 and collided head-on with an 18-wheeler.
The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene of the accident. Authorities identified him as West Barris.
The truck driver sustained internal injuries in the crash and went to a local hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
