GRADY COUNTY, OK — Three children were sent to a hospital last Thursday morning after a single-vehicle rollover crash on County Road 1320 near Chickasha, reports Chickasha Today.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the scene on the eastbound lanes of CR-1320 on September 8, shortly after 7:50 a.m.
According to authorities, a 31-year-old Ninnekah woman was driving a 2022 Nissan Altima eastbound when she failed to negotiate a right curve. The car proceeded forward until it traveled off to the left the roadway and hit a dirt embankment. It then overturned and came to a stop in a ravine.
Three juvenile passengers aged 6, 7, and 11 were all taken to OU Children’s Hospital. Officials said the 6-year-old and the 11-year-old both suffered arm and trunk injuries but have since been released. As of Monday, the 7-year-old female patient is listed in fair condition with a head injury and both internal and external injuries to her trunk.
It was unclear whether the driver was hurt, but authorities said she declined treatment.
An investigation into the cause of the collision was underway.
