The accident occurred shortly before 8:00 a.m. as the bus was traveling south on Seventh Street. An eastbound car ran a stoplight at the Okmulgee Avenue intersection and struck the front left side of the bus.

Of the 20 children on the bus, two girls and a boy were transported to Muskogee Regional Medical Center for observation. No one involved in the crash sustained life-threatening injuries.
