4 lives claimed, 1 critically injured in fiery wrong-way collision in Yukon

YUKON, OK – Four young adults lost their lives, and a fifth person was critically injured in a fiery wrong-way collision in Yukon on Friday, according to Koco5.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the wrong-way driver was driving west on eastbound Interstate 40 near Czech Hall Road when they crashed head-on into another vehicle.
One of the vehicles caught on fire, and the wrong-way driver sustained critical injuries, while the other driver, 20-year-old Kiercey Hickson, and her three passengers died.
Hickson’s passengers were identified as 18-year-old Haleigh Salazar, 19-year-old Quincy Jones, and Brad Palmer, who was 18 or 19.
Palmer, Jones, and Salazar were all El Reno Public Schools alums, OKCFOX reveals.
OHP and other officials shut down Interstate 40 for over four hours to accommodate the scene clean-up process and for the on-scene investigation period.
OHP is working to determine the events that led to this deadly crash.
