JEFFERSON COUNTY, OK – A 7-year-old girl from Comanche is dead following a boating accident on Waurika Lake that was possibly related to alcohol, reports KFOR.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon around the Kiowa 2 boat ramp where the little girl was riding in a boat with eight other people. The child fell off the swim deck of the boat and into the water, where she was then hit by the boat propeller and suffered severe injuries.

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the boat was Caleb Newton, 36, who smelled of alcohol at the time of the accident, according to the report.
