Health authorities in Oklahoma have confirmed that there were eight incidents of salmonella contamination in the state linked to recalled cucumbers nationwide, News9.com reported on September 9.
The cases of salmonella contamination were linked to the Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce cucumber recall issued on September 4. The recall was issued after a woman in San Diego died and 285 people fell ill in 27 states from salmonella contamination. The raw cucumbers, from the company’s “Limited Edition” product line, reportedly came from Mexico. According to the Oklahoma State Health Department, the cases of contamination took place in Tulsa County, Cleveland County, and Oklahoma County.
