CLEVELAND COUNTY, OK — One person was injured Wednesday night after a rollover crash involving a box truck on Interstate 40 in the Newalla area, according to KOCO.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the events unfolded on a span of the interstate near the Kickapoo Turnpike, southeast of Oklahoma City.
An early investigation indicates one driver initially crashed their vehicle near the turnpike and was able to walk away from the wreckage. Moments later, a box truck collided with the wrecked vehicle, causing the box truck to roll downhill.
First responders had to extricate the second driver from the damaged box truck. The patient was said to have suffered minor injuries, but it was unclear whether they were taken to a hospital.
The OHP said the first driver was taken into custody for suspected OWI (Operating While Intoxicated).
