Woman hospitalized after car crashes into north Oklahoma City home

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — A woman was injured early Thursday when a driver lost control and crashed their car into her home in north Oklahoma City, reports KOCO.
The collision occurred near Northwest 164th Street and May Avenue, in the city’s Seminole Pointe neighborhood. Authorities responded to the scene shortly after 2:00 a.m.
An early investigation indicates a car was traveling southbound on Sugar Loaf Drive when its driver overcorrected. The vehicle slammed through two fences before it struck a bedroom wall of the residence.
The victim, who was asleep in a bed placed against the impacted wall, was transported to a local hospital with an injured shoulder.
The driver, who was initially detained at the scene, was later released. Police said they do not believe impairment was a factor.
