Driver arrested in crash that hurt 2 OKC first responders

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Police arrested an alleged drunk driver who caused a crash that injured a firefighter and an EMS first responder on Sunday, reports Fox 25.
The incident happened in the morning near the intersection of Northwest Expressway and Belle Isle Boulevard, which is just east of Penn Square Mall.
The investigation indicates that the firefighter and EMS worker were standing in the roadway after responding to an earlier crash. An alleged DUI driver collided with a parked vehicle, causing the parked vehicle to strike the firefighter and EMS worker.
Medics transported both the firefighter and the EMS first responder to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
Police arrested the suspected DUI driver. A full investigation is underway.
