Semi crash at I-44 WB and N Western Ave blocks traffic in OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A Thursday morning accident involving a semi-truck and a pickup slowed traffic along the interstate in Oklahoma City.
According to KOCO News 5, the incident happened on the westbound side of I-44 near North Western Avenue, which is near the junction for the Northwest Expressway.
At this time, the cause and circumstances of the accident are still unclear. Police say that the 18-wheeler caught fire after the crash and that a tow truck was required to remove the pickup truck from the scene.
There’s no word yet on injuries or fatalities.
Officials closed the westbound on-ramp from North Western Avenue to I-44 while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
