Woman dies after crash with Mack truck on OK-48 in Coal County

COAL COUNTY, OK – A 36-year-old woman from Ada lost her life Thursday afternoon as a result of a two-vehicle collision on State Highway 48 in Tupelo, according to FOX 25.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) said the events unfolded at the intersection with OK-3 on August 8, at about 2:15 p.m.
A preliminary investigation shows that the woman was behind the wheel of a vehicle that was stopped at a traffic signal while on OK-48. As she tried to make a left turn onto OK-3, her vehicle was hit by an eastbound Mack semi-truck.
First responders pronounced the woman deceased at the scene.
The truck driver, a 55-year-old man from Powell, was not reported hurt.
Officials have not indicated which party was at fault in the fatal crash, but an investigation into the crash remains in progress.
