Police say that the driver of a southbound Nissan lost control of the vehicle, entered the northbound side of the highway, and collided head-on with a northbound GMC Envoy.
The driver of the GMC, identified as 63-year-old Janet Hicks, died at the scene of the wreck.
Medics airlifted a passenger from the GMC to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The wrong-way driver, identified as 24-year-old Adrian Galaviz, also succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Authorities say that neither Hicks nor Galaviz were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
A full investigation is underway.
