Pickup vs. semi crash on Kilpatrick Tpke SB near I-40 kills 1

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – One person died Wednesday in a major wreck involving a semi in west-central Oklahoma City, reports KFOR News 4.

The accident happened not long after midnight on the southbound side of the John Kilpatrick Turnpike near I-40. This is southwest of Lake Overholser and southeast of the Xerox Corporation.

Police say that a pickup truck crashed into an 18-wheeler. They haven’t shared any details regarding the cause of the collision or the manner in which the two vehicles impacted.

The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene. Authorities haven’t yet released the victim’s name to the public.

It’s unclear if anyone else sustained injuries in the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
