Semi-truck rollover blocks traffic on I-40 EB near S Harrah Rd

NEWALLA, OK – Emergency crews responded to a major accident involving an 18-wheeler along the interstate in southeast Oklahoma County on Wednesday, reports KOCO News 5.

The crash happened sometime before noon on the eastbound side of I-40 near South Harrah Road. This is just southwest of McCloud in the Newalla area.

Police haven’t yet determined what caused wreck. They say that a semi-truck overturned, spilling debris across the interstate and blocking traffic for several hours.

Video footage taken at the scene shows crews using a snow plow to clear debris from the roadway.

Drivers experienced significant delays along I-40 eastbound in the area of the crash while crews worked at the scene.

There’s no word yet regarding injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
