Ambulance called to injury crash at I-40 EB and Western Ave

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – An ambulance responded to the scene of a two-vehicle collision along the interstate in central Oklahoma City on Wednesday, reports KOCO News 5.
The incident occurred late in the morning along the eastbound side of I-40 near South Western Avenue in the Riverside area. This is just northwest of Wheeler Park.
Police say that a car crashed into a parked vehicle on the shoulder of the interstate. The car was travelling at around 70 miles per hour when the collision occurred.
The stationary vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the crash.
Authorities have referenced injuries, but it’s unclear how many people may have been hurt.
Officials closed two lanes of I-40 eastbound in the area of the accident while crews worked at the scene. All lanes re-opened by at least 12:30 p.m.
