Woodward police chase ends in fatal collision near Oklahoma Ave

WOODWARD, OK – One person died Monday night when a police chase culminated in a single-vehicle accident on the west side of Woodward, reports Fox 25.
The crash occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. in the area of Oklahoma Avenue and Energy West Road. This is just west of Hang ‘Em High RV Park.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a driver evaded a traffic stop near Oklahoma Avenue and 22nd Avenue, fleeing west along Oklahoma Avenue.
The suspect was speeding when Woodward Police performed a TVI maneuver, causing the driver to leave Oklahoma Avenue and crash into a tree along the roadway.
The driver died at the scene of the accident. Authorities have not yet released their identity to the public.
There were no other passengers in the car at the time of the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
