Fiery collision involving semi-truck in Stringtown kills 2

STRINGTOWN, OK – Two people died Friday morning in a two-vehicle collision involving an 18-wheeler in north-central Atoka County, reports Fort Bend Herald.
The fatal accident occurred at 9:30 a.m. at US-69 and OK-43 on the north side of Stringtown. This is about 134 miles southeast of Oklahoma City.
While the cause of the crash remains unclear, police say that a semi-truck and an SUV collided along the highway.
The impact of the crash caused the SUV to catch fire, and both occupants died at the scene. Authorities have not yet identified the victims.
Medics transported the truck driver via air ambulance to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
Officials closed roads in the area of the crash while emergency crews worked at the scene.
