1 ejected, killed when car crashes near Canadian River off Reno Ave

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – One person sustained fatal injuries Friday morning when a vehicle crashed onto a riverbank in western Oklahoma City, reports KOCO News 5.
The single-vehicle ejection accident occurred around 2 a.m. along Reno Avenue between Overnite Drive and Alliance Court. This is north of I-40 and south of Overholser Park.
Police say that a driver lost control of their vehicle while speeding, crashed off of the Reno Avenue bridge, and landed near the bank of the Canadian River.
The crash threw one person from the vehicle, and they died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name.
It’s unclear if the other person in the car sustained injuries in the accident and if they required hospitalization.
