Fatality reported in ejection crash at SW 54th and Portland

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A driver sustained fatal injuries Saturday in a single-vehicle collision at a busy intersection in southwest Oklahoma City, reports News 9.

The solo crash occurred sometime before 3:30 a.m. in the area of Southwest 54th Street and South Portland Avenue, which is at the northeast corner of Will Rogers International Airport.

Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of their vehicle, causing it to crash and overturn. The impact of the collision ejected the driver, killing them at the scene.

There were no passengers in the car at the time of the wreck.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the deceased.

A full investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
