Auto-pedestrian crash at Sooner Rd, SE 48th proves fatal

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A pedestrian sustained fatal injuries Thursday when a vehicle struck them at a busy intersection in southeast Oklahoma City, reports KOCO News 5.

The accident occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Sooner Road and Southeast 48th Street, which is just west of Tinker Air Force Base.

Officials haven’t yet shared any details regarding the circumstances of the crash. It’s unclear if the victim was walking in a designated crosswalk when they were hit.

Authorities haven’t released the name of the victim to the public.

The driver involved in the collision stopped to render aid and to speak with police.

No charges are pending at this time.

A full investigation is underway.
