OKC PD investigates fatal hit-and-run at Hefner and Military

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man sustained fatal injuries Wednesday when a vehicle struck him at a busy intersection in north-central Oklahoma City, reports KOCO News 5.

The accident occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. at West Hefner Road and Military Avenue, which is southwest of McGee Park in the College Park area.

Police say that an unidentified vehicle hit a pedestrian at a bus stop. The driver then fled the scene without stopping to render aid or to speak with authorities.

The victim, who has not yet been named by authorities, died after transport to an area hospital.

Motorists likely encountered delays in the area of Hefner and Military on Wednesday afternoon while emergency teams worked at the scene.

Authorities haven’t identified a suspect, nor have they disclosed a possible description of the vehicle involved.

A full investigation is underway.
