Teen, 16, loses life to bicycle collision in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – A 16-year-old lost her life to a bicycle collision that happened west of Tulsa International Airport on Thursday.
The crash occurred around 5 a.m., News9 reports. The teenager was struck by an SUV in the area of East 36th Street North and Yale Avenue.
An eyewitness told police that the teenager was swerving in between lanes when she was struck by an eastbound SUV.
Police confirmed that the teenager did not wear protective gear and did not use lights or reflectors on the bikes to allow for other drivers to see her.
The SUV driver and passenger remained at the scene.
An investigation has been started.
