TULSA, OK – On Friday, Oct. 10, Fox23 confirmed that the driver of a Jeep Wrangler faces numerous charges in relation to a deadly crash that happened on Sunday.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Memorial Drive and East 21st Street. New details reveal that the driver of the Jeep Wrangler, later identified as Christian Guerrero, ran a red light and crashed into the Dodge Dakota.
The driver of the Dodge Dakota was going south on Memorial Drive, and Guerrero was traveling on eastbound 21st Street. When both vehicles collided, the Jeep crashed into a wooden utility pole, and the Dodge wrapped around a traffic pole.
The Dodge occupants were thrown from their vehicle and died from their injuries. The Dodge driver was later identified as 28-year-old Kortlin Harmon, and the passenger as 32-year-old Kyle Silk.
Guerrero was not seriously hurt, while the passenger in his car, his ex-girlfriend, sustained a broken hand.
Police obtained a search warrant for the Jeep and discovered that Guerrero was going 90 mph in a 45 mph zone when the crash occurred.
An affidavit also revealed that prior to the crash, Guerrero had stalked his ex-girlfriend and harassed her. He forced her into his Jeep and then drove away at high speed. Not long after, that’s when he ran a red light and when the collision occurred.
Guerrero was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail. He faces several traffic-related charges, a stalking charge, a kidnapping charge, and two second-degree murder charges.
