Elderly man dead following ATV rollover collision at Lake Blackwell

BRAMAN, OK – An elderly man died as a result of an ATV rollover collision that happened at Lake Blackwell on Sunday, KOCO reports.
The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s preliminary details show that 77-year-old John R. Pendergraft was driving his ATV next to private property when he got too close to the lake’s edge. He, along with his ATV, crashed into the lake. His ATV overturned, and he suffered serious head and neck injuries and water in the lungs.
First responders rescued him and took him to a local hospital. Medical helicopter personnel then transported him to a hospital in Wichita, Kansas, where he died.
