GUTHRIE, OK – One person was hospitalized after a driver crashed their vehicle into a tree off I-35 South on Tuesday, KOCO reports.
The crash occurred near Midwest Boulevard and prompted a quick response from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Guthrie Fire Department. After arriving, they closed a portion of the southbound lanes so crews could remove the vehicle from the site. During that time, traffic delays could be seen for two to three miles.
The vehicle was significantly damaged and appeared to have been an SUV or pickup truck.
Tow truck personnel were able to remove the vehicle from the truck, and medical helicopter workers transported one person to a hospital for treatment.
The person’s physical condition is unknown, and officials did not clarify whether it was a driver or a passenger who was sent to the hospital.
