2 injured in pickup truck, train collision in Porteau

POTEAU, OK – Two people were injured in a pickup truck-train collision off the intersection of Coggins Road and North Broadway Street on Saturday.
According to 4029TV, the incident unfolded around noon when the pickup truck driver ignored the crossing guard’s arm that went down and came onto the tracks. Moments later, the train crashed into the pickup truck.
The force of the collision caused the truck to drag several feet, and two people were left with unspecified injuries.
Medical helicopter personnel airlifted one person to the hospital, and ambulance crews transported one person by ground to the emergency room.
