Female pedestrian fatally struck by train in Pauls Valley

PAULS VALLEY, OK – A female pedestrian died after getting struck by a train in Pauls Valley on Sunday, KOCO reports.
The pedestrian-train crash occurred around 2 p.m. in a wooded area near East County Road 1550, which is along U.S. 77. The train struck the female pedestrian as she was walking south on the railroad tracks.
The woman died from her injuries a short time later. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is working to determine why the woman was walking on the tracks.
Paul’s Valley Fire Department and Garvin County Sheriff’s Office were also called to the scene.
BNSF Railway has not provided further commentary on the collision.
