LONGTOWN, OK – An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper had to go to the hospital following a rollover collision that happened on State Highway 9 on Monday, Koco 5 said.
Preliminary details show that the Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was struck by a left-turning vehicle around 10 a.m., while he was on his way to respond to a separate crash with injuries involving an overturned trash truck. The OHP trooper’s car overturned several times, pinning the trooper inside. Fire crews extricated him before ambulance crews rushed him to a Tulsa area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The trooper was later released from the hospital on Monday. The other driver sustained minor injuries, but it is unclear if they needed to go to the hospital.
It’s unclear if the other driver will face charges.
