Sand Springs officer, driver hurt in collision with hit-and-run suspect

SAND SPRINGS, OK – A Sand Springs police officer and another driver were injured in a collision involving a hit-and-run suspect last Saturday, May 9.
The incident unfolded around 4:30 p.m. on the 9000th block of westbound U.S. 12, News on 6 said. During this time, police were informed of a driver who fled the scene.
A short time later, police found the hit-and-run suspect in the area of West 78th Avenue and Charles Page Boulevard.
One of the officers then became involved in a separate crash while trying to keep the hit-and-run suspect from fleeing again.
The officer and the other driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital.
Police arrested the hit-and-run suspect on suspicion of DUI and multiple additional offenses.
