Man, woman killed in two-vehicle crash north of Davis

NEAR DAVIS, OK – A 42-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were killed in a two-vehicle crash that happened north of Davis on Tuesday, KTEN reports.
The collision occurred around 10:45 a.m. on U.S. 77 along River Bottom Road. Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a blue Hyundai overturned into a ditch after being struck by a white SUV.
The 42-year-old man, identified as Christopher Williams from Elmore City, and the 34-year-old woman, identified as Heather Johle from Davis, were the Hyundai occupants who died from their injuries.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol did not say whether Williams or Johle was behind the wheel, and did not say what caused the SUV driver to lose control of their vehicle.
Authorities closed both directions of U.S. 77 for three hours before reopening the area.
