2 women in their 20s lose lives in head-on collision in Kingfisher

KINGFISHER, OK – Two women in their 20s were killed in a head-on collision that occurred west of Kingfisher on Monday, Koco5 reports.
The incident happened on Highway 33 near 2740 Road. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a pickup truck was driving west and then stopped to turn onto a road known by locals as “Calumet Blacktop.” Moments later, a driver of a westbound vehicle clipped the pickup truck and then crashed head-on into a semi-truck.
The driver and passenger of the westbound vehicle died from their injuries. Alexus Pendleton, 23, was the passenger, and the driver was 20-year-old Alysha Bidwell-McDonagh.
OHP confirmed Pendleton and Bidwell-McDonagh wore seatbelts and were from Greenfield. A passenger inside the truck was injured, although OHP did not specify the extent of their injuries.
OHP is working to determine the events leading to the crash.
