Enid man loses life in fiery collision near Pond Creek

NEAR POND CREEK, OK – A 56-year-old man from Enid died as a result of a fiery collision at the intersection of Highway 60 and Highway 64 on Thursday.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol told Koco5 that the incident unfolded around 7:15 p.m., when the man from Enid ignored a stop sign and crashed into a traffic pole. The car overturned before catching on fire.
The driver died from his injuries a short time later. He has since been identified as Monty Corbet.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
