Passenger critically injured in single-vehicle collision in Coal County

COAL COUNTY, OK – A passenger was critically injured in a single-vehicle collision that occurred in Coal County on Monday, KXII reports.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on North 3775 Road. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 23-year-old man, identified as Sean Hilfer, was driving when, for reasons unclear, he drifted off the left side of the road and crashed into a culvert and a tree.
One passenger sustained critical injuries as a result of the single-vehicle collision and was transported via a medical helicopter to a hospital in Plano, Texas. Hilfer and his three other passengers were uninjured.
OHP confirmed that not every driver wore a seatbelt.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
