ODOT worker dies after being hit by car near Snyder

NEAR SNYDER, OK – An Oklahoma Department of Transportation worker died after he was struck by a car on U.S. 62 West on Tuesday, KSWO reports.
The incident happened around 9:30 p.m, approximately five miles west of Snyder. The ODOT employee, along with other ODOT workers, was moving grass and removing weeds prior to the crash. The worker stood on the shoulder when they were struck by a Volkswagen Jetta car.
The ODOT employee died from his injuries at the scene.
Several Oklahoma Highway Patrol vehicles, a Survival Flight ambulance, and at least one fire truck were at the scene. Officials temporarily blocked the area to accommodate the scene clean-up process and investigation.
OHP has not released the victim’s name at this time and is working to determine the events leading to the crash.
