Teen, 16, critically injured in vehicle-pedestrian crash in Newcastle

NEW CASTLE, OK – A 16-year-old teenager was left in critical condition as a result of a vehicle-pedestrian crash in Newcastle on Thursday.

The incident happened at the intersection of State Highway 62 and Stan Patty, along Newcastle Public Schools. Newcastle police told OKCFOX that the teenager was using a designated crosswalk when they were struck by a vehicle.

EMS transported the teenager to a hospital, where they remain in critical but stable condition.

Police confirmed the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

A full investigation continues.
