OKC PD, fire crews responds to car-train collision in NW OKC

NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma City police and fire crews responded to the scene of a car-train collision that happened in Northwest Oklahoma City on Monday.
Police said the crash took place after 2:30 a.m. off North Western Avenue and West Britton Road, according to News9. Police determined that the driver made a wrong turn and went onto the tracks instead of the road.
Police said fire crews were able to help the driver and their passenger escape from their car prior to a train hitting it.
Police are working to determine whether impairment played a role in the crash.
