OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A 17-year-old teenage girl from Choctaw passed away last Friday, Oct. 9, several months after a fiery crash in Oklahoma City.
OKCFOX said the collision happened before 2:30 p.m. on Interstate 40 West, east of Reno Avenue. Oklahoma Highway Patrol said an 18-year-old man operating a red Toyota sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed and tried to pass a semi-truck.
The male driver, identified as Jeremiah Miles, lost control of his sedan and crashed into the truck and a concrete barrier wall.
The wall then went into the eastbound lanes, posing a traffic hazard that also led to several other collisions. Miles’ sedan overturned and caught on fire, and Miles and his passenger, the 17-year-old girl, suffered serious burns.
EMS rushed Miles and the teenage girl to a hospital. She unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
It’s unclear what Miles’ current physical condition is.
