Afternoon collision shuts down lanes on I-44

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to an accident involving injuries along Interstate 44 late Friday afternoon.
According to the official Oklahoma Highway Patrol Twitter page, the accident occurred along I-44 westbound, west of Interstate 235 at about 3:30 p.m.

Officials reported injures as a result of the crash, but information regarding how many were injured and the severity of their injures has not been released.
Authorities shut down the westbound lanes of I-44 while the incident was investigated and cleared from the roadway. They have since been reopened.
